Key Points

YAH’s covenant with Abraham includes that of the land, which YAH gave to Abraham and his descendants as an everlasting possession [Genesis 17:8] – from the Nile to the Euphrates.   The ancient dispersion of the Israelites out of their ancestral and Biblical covenant homeland began in 733 BCE with the Ten Northern Tribes (1 Kings 12) and later those in the kingdom of Judah were deported to Babylon around 597 BCE.  During the reign of the Roman Empire around 6 CE, Jewish-Roman wars resulted in the destruction of the Second Temple (symbol of Judaism, authority of YAH and the Torah) and much of Jerusalem, and scattered people throughout the world. During the Middle Ages, there was increased migration and groupings.  The two main ones are Ashkenazi Jews from Northern and Eastern Europe and Sephardic Jews of Iberia (Spain, Portugal) and Spanish-speaking North Africa.

Satan’s masterplan throughout history has been to annihilate the Jewish people and dispossess them from their land Covenant so YAH’s Word will be proven to be false.  The Jewish people faced unimaginable persecutions and massacres like the Spanish Inquisition in 1492, the Crusades, the Pogroms in Russia and the culmination at the Nazi Holocaust that exterminated over 6 million Jews.  From the ashes of the holocaust, the nation of Israel was miraculously born politically in May 1948.  That was the greatest restoration of all times after 2000 years of being dispersed.  Jewish people started returning home, fulfilling YAH’s promises.

Within the big Restoration Program, YAH has a special program for the restoration of S’farad Jews.  Many of the Spanish Jewish were forced as a matter of life and death to renounce their identity and completely forsake their Jewishness during the Inquisition.  They took on the Christian Catholic identity and today, there are about 60 million of these lost Jewish sheep – physically and spiritually.

The S’farad Jews shall repossess the gates of the cities of the Negev, which were originally allotted to the tribe of Judah.  From Patriarch Abraham’s city of Beersheba all the way to the strategic port city of Eilat in the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea.  Already, Israel has turned the desert of this region, that constitutes 55% of the land of modern Israel borders, into food bowl and industries, as prophesied by Isaiah (35:1).

The Bible says more about the Holy City of Yerushalayim, the place that YAH chose to place His name.  The Negev region and its cities are also holy and holds strategic importance for Israel’s peace and security, economy, tourism, and for spiritual purposes of fulfilling the Isaiah 19 highway of holiness that will bring lasting shalom for Israel, Egypt and Assyria (Syria-Iran-Iraq).

The Negev, however, now faces a security threat from the increasing number of squatters and population of the Bedouin Muslims which the Government of Israel must take seriously as they hate Jews and will try to divide the land.  Government processes must be streamlined, making it easier for Conversos, Marranos and Crypto Jews to make aliya to Israel and settle in the cities of the Negev.

For centuries, satan has been operating under the spirit of Amalek (Esau, Edomites) to annihilate Israel and sabotage YAH’s divine plan. The end-time will be between Jacob and Esau.  Amalek dwells in the Negev.  The spiritually offensive strategy is to defeat the enemies Amalek at the Gate and Eilat is the south gate of the Negev and all of Israel.  He is being defeated in Eilat through prayer, worship and sacrifice.

Many prophecies have come that “The Revival of Israel will start from the Spanish speakers”.

Practical Application

I can imagine how challenging it is to go back to a place like Toledo that holds so much history of the worst things done to your people.  To robbed of one’s identity and to trade one’s way of life and culture at the threat of death and massacres.  This is where we can experience YAH’s gifts of love, forgiveness, and repentance.  Both the Jew and Gentile need to reach out to each other with love and the hope of reconciliation, and create that space for deep mourning and healing.

We ought to continue to pray for restoration of the S’farad Jews to the strategic South Gate city of Eilat and the Negev as a whole, so they can be fruitful in turning the arid desert into livable places and physically repossess their inheritance.

In our personal lives, may the Holy Spirit reveal the spirit of Amalek that is bringing darkness into our spiritual lives.  May we take our own spiritual aliya and position ourselves at the Gates to repossess what the devil has stolen from us – physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and in our family, community and nation.

Learning

I’ve heard teachings about Isaiah 19 but this is my first time to be taught about the strategic spiritual, physical, economical, and prophetic importance of the Negev and her cities.  My first time to learn about the prophecies regarding the Sephardic Jews and I learnt the history.  I will now include in my prayers specific prayers for the fulfillment of the prophecies regarding Negev, the S’farads, the defeat of Amalek and the turning of Assyria and Egypt to Yahveh Elohim God of Israel, and shalom in the Middle East.
